The Good News of Great Joy

God plans to deliver the gift of paradise to us just as he delivered the gift of paradise to Adam and Eve. God will not be less generous with us than he was with them. Adam and Eve were the first beneficiaries of God’s love for us. They were not the last. God’s philanthropy did not end with Adam and Eve; God’s philanthropy began with them. This is good news of great joy - very good news for us indeed.

The gift of paradise is already in the pipeline for delivery. The only open question is whether we will keep it after it is delivered to us. God has taken steps to increase the likelihood that the children of Adam and Eve will keep the gift of paradise - that they won't repeat the original sin of their parents who let the gift of paradise slip through their fingers.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
— Luke 2:10-11

Our personal experience with the toxicity of a life lived without God in the Valley of Tears is the glue that creates an indissoluble bond between the children of Adam and Eve and the gift of paradise. Having put our fingers into the flames, we know that the fire is hot. Rational creatures avoid the sour truth at all costs. Once burned, twice shy.
