God engineered an equation on the road from the Crucifixion to the Resurrection. The Crucifixion and the the Resurrection are the two sides of the equation. The equation postulated an inequality. In the equation, God made a comparison between him and us. In the comparison, we behold the radical asymmetry between creature and Creator (Isaiah 55:8-9) . Creature ≠ Creator. On the road from the Crucifixion to the Resurrection, we discovered that He is as fair as we were foul - as hospitable as we were hostile. He is paradise. We are the Valley of Tears. We live our lives on the level of the most miserable and hideous of loveless beast. He lives his life on the level of our loving God. We tortured and killed him. He forgave us (Luke 6:43-45) . The comparison results in a high fidelity representation of the reality of God. Our vileness shines a light on his goodness (Mark 10:18)
